Repurposed chandelier, copper pipe, Kiaat, cast iron fuse box, joist hangers
The chandelier at the top of this lamp came from the formal lounge of an old house in Welgemoed. When rescued it came with yellowed frilly lampshades, and dangerously perished wiring. Everything fell into place after I decided to make a standing lamp.
The chandelier is mounted upside down. This is echoed by the feet that are galvanised hangers originally from a roof. The fuse box came from an old house in Boston and seemed perfect as a cast iron “heart” for the lamp.
The warmth of Edison bulbs perfectly compliments this piece with the copper almost feeding on the glow. The dimmer switch allows the lamp to have many moods whilst managing electricity consumption.
